The function of the Engine crankshaft seal is to seal the openings that are located on either side of the crankshaft and engage in maintaining the crankcase seal. When it comes to replacement, front engine crankshaft seals are much easier to be replaced than the rear crankshaft seals. The reason for this is that, typically, the rear crankshaft seal is placed along with the transmission; therefore, the process of replacing it would require the removal of transmission, as well as the clutch and flywheel assembly.
