Rack and pinion are the most commom steering on SUVs,small trucks and cars.They are housed in a metal tube with each one of the rack extended from the tube. Each side of the rack is connected by a rod called tie rod. The main purpose of the rack and pinion is to allow the vehicle to turn easily.
